signed POWELL & LEALAND 170 Euston Road LONDON, of standard No. 1 format with course focusing by rack and pinion and fine focusing by long lever and calibrated screw head, Turrell-type mechanical stage with finder scale at one corner, rotating on 360 degree silvered scale, sub-stage with focusing and rotating movements, large plano/concave reflector, on massive tripod base with cork feet, in fitted mahogany case with monocular body tube and case of accessories including a parabolic reflector, stage forceps, binocular prism in red leather case, seven oculars, 2-inch lieberkuhn, P & L achromatic condenser with eleven apertures, Nicol prism, Watson "The Universal" sub-stage condenser, Powell & Lealand, 1/16 "Immersion", 1/8, 1/6 "Dry", 4/10, 1/4, 1/2, 1, and 4 in objectives, Ross 1/4in, Bailey 1/4 and 3 in, and three unsigned objectives, together with a separate mahogany case of microscope slides including two J D Moller diatomes in leather cases and approximately 275 other slides contained in twenty one drawers, microscope with binocular tubes, eyepieces in place and racked down, 19 3/4in (50cm) high

Buyers' Premium and Charges

A successful bidder at this sale will be required to pay Bonhams 1793 Limited ("Bonhams") a premium calculated as follows:
25% on the first £100,000 of the hammer price
20% on the excess of £100,001 and up to £2,000,000 of the hammer price
12% on the excess of £2,000,001 of the hammer price

VAT at 20% will be payable on the amount of the premium.

The premium is payable for the services to be provided by Bonhams in the Buyer's Agreement which is contained in the catalogue for this Sale and for the opportunity to bid for the Lot at the Sale.

Payment Notices

Payment in advance: by cash, cheque with banker's card, credit card, bank draft or traveller's cheque.

Payment at collection: by credit or debit card.

Credit card charges: a surcharge of 2% is applicable when using Mastercard, Visa and overseas debit cards.
