Exceptional Spessartite Garnet

Named after its original source in Spessart, Germany, the best deposits are presently found in Africa. Spessartite garnets of a reddish-orange color with excellent clarity normally do not exceed three carats in weight. Generally, large gems of spessartite garnet are either dark with unattractive color and/or inclusions. This is a gem-quality spessartite of reddish orange hue which has been faceted as an oval mixed-cut. The combination of large size, superb luster, brilliance and transparency contribute to this stone being an exceptional offering for the knowledgeable collector. Weighing approximately 41.76 carats and measuring 21.09 x 16.86 x 13.08mm

Accompanied by an American Gemological Laboratory report numbered CS 1072513 dated February 26, 2016 stating that the 41.76 carats spessartite garnet is natural and that the unusual combination of size and quality factors present in the material contributes favorably to its rarity and desirability and that there is no evidence of clarity enhancement or treatments present. A special report on cutting quality is included which states: cutting grade: excellent. Finish grade: excellent.
