Edenite is named after the hamlet of Edenville, New York, the type locality where this mineral was first described. A metamorphic stone of basic sodium, calcium, and magnesium silicate this is a gem-quality example. Relative to the species, this is a large sized cushion-shape for the species which is near-colorless to faint yellow. Weighing approximately 5.19 carats and measuring 12.70 x 9.0 x 6.28mm
