The man depicted in this painting is Jacques Chalom des Cordes, born in 1935. He is a contemporary artist and the son of Samy Chalom, a leading art dealer in Paris during the École de Paris. Jacques Chalom des Cordes is also the official expert for the works of Kees van Dongen. He was close friends with Kikoïne who did this portrait of him in Paris in 1964.
