Born in Russia, Julia Worswick, née Dragounoff, emigrated to Paris after the Revolution. She was a student of the Ukrainian artist Boris Pastoukhoff and married him in 1942. Worswick participated in the Paris salons, such as the Salon d'Automne (1935), Salon des Tuileries (1936), and Salon de la Société des Artistes Français (1956), as well in group exhibitions. While actively engaging in the diaspora's social and cultural life in Paris, she took part in the organisation of the memorial exhibition of Maria Ryabushinsky's work (1949), the ball of the Union of Russian Writers and Journalists (1952) and donated her works in favour of the restoration of the Orthodox Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky in Paris.

In 1991, an exhibition of Boris Pastoukhoff and Julia Worswick's work was organized at the John Denham Gallery in London (see further exh.cat. Boris Pastoukhoff and Julia Worswick – Two Russian Artists working in Paris and London,. John Denham Gallery, London, 2-16 June 1991).
