The typical case with banded edges framing the panels of well figured yew wood veneers, contrasted by an inlaid brass double-line border, raised on a shaped plinth base and adjustable bronze button feet, the signed and numbered 5.25 inch silvered dial with engraved minute track enclosing the Roman numerals, start/stop lever, subsidiary dial for running seconds, and, at VI the power reserve sector marked 0-8, with instruction to wind at 7, the very substantial movement with thick plates united by four heavy turned pillars screwed through both front and backplates, the train with maintaining power to the single chain fusee and terminating in a spotted brass platform signed and numbered by the maker 'Chas. Frodsham and Co. Ltd., 27 So. Molton St, London, W1, No 2353' the freesprung Earnshaw type spring detent escapement with a cut and compensated bi-metallic balance suspended from a palladium helical hairspring 27cms (10.75ins) high.
