Los Angeles – Bonhams Natural History department will present Fossils, Meteorites, Minerals and the Joanna Candler Collection of Quartz and Metaphysical Minerals on June 7 in Los Angeles. The auction will feature an impressive selection of Dinosauria including a museum-quality cast replica Tyrannosaurus bataar shoulder mount, estimated at $15,000, - 18,000, and numerous selections of teeth highlighted by a 66-million-year-old Tyrannosaurus rex tooth, estimated at $5,000 – 6,000. Additionally, a selection of fossils is led by a full skeleton of an extinct genus of Oreodont, Merycoidodon culbertsoni, the first offered at public auction in decades and estimated at $20,000 – 30,000, as well as an extremely rare, 50-million-years-old, hard-shelled fossil turtle from the Green River Formation, estimated at $25,000 – 35,000.

The sale will also feature quartz and metaphysical minerals from the collection of Joanna Candler, a Santa Barbra-based enthusiast of generously sized specimens, many of which are mounted on illuminated stands and ready for display. Highlights of the collection include three works by Israeli artist Hovave Rappaport – a massive smoky quartz cluster on a labradorite base, estimated at $8,000 – 10,000, a light smoky quartz carving of a dragon chasing a flaming pearl with an illuminated base, estimated at $5,000 – 7,000, and a giant "Cathedral"-type smoky quartz crystal on a marble base, estimated at $4,000 – 6,000.

Additional sale highlights include:

• A rare, white crusted Eucrite meteorite found by shepherds near Talsint, Morocco in 2020, estimated at $70,000 – 80,000.

• A very large and impressive Gold Nugget, estimated at $45,000 – 55,000.

• A large complete Bruderheim meteorite, witnessed to have fallen on March 4, 1960 in Canada, estimated at $35,000 – 55,000.

• A magnificent aquamarine with muscovite found in a mine in Pakistan, estimated at $30,000 – 40,000.

• Discovered in 1881 near Admire, Kansas, a large complete slice of an Admire Pallasitic meteorite, estimated at $20,000 – 25,000.
